Some light foxing and fingering, two of the plates rather more heavily foxed with some marking of the next page of text, a few other light marks, almost entirely in the margins, slight, even browning of the pages in places, but most of the plates cleaner then usual. Bound with red leather spines and corners and red cloth covering the boards, the title etc. in gilt on the spine, the binding solid but rubbed.
One of the most delightful sets of Victorian illustrations, full of amusing detail of Victorian scenes and interiors, that stands comparision with the best work of Phiz or Cruickshank.
