Potiers, Henri Oudin, 1859.
8vo. (22x14cm), xlviii+520+206+xix pages. The text in Latin. A very clean, crisp copy, with only very slight marking. In a few places the text has been pointed with a few dots and short lines. Bound with a brown leather spine and black cloth covering the boards, the spine rubbed and the corners bumped, but the binding sound.
British Museum. Catalogue of Printed Books. Liturgies.
London, British Museum, 1899
34x24.5cm. Title page + 388 pages (however numbered in columns not pages). Slight creasing, but generally a very clean copy.
Bound in black cloth covered boards, worn but solid, the title in gilt on the spine. The cloth split along the front hinge and frayed with some loss, although the spine still firmly attached. The same problem with part of the rear hinge.
The Oscotian Catalogue of the Old Library Part II: The Bible Collections
New Oscott, St. Marry’s Seminary, 1971
1st edition. Paperback, in the original wrappers (24x18cm), xxii + 208 pages.
Internally crisp and clean. The wrappers solid, but with some light wear and marking, including a small piece missing at the top of the spine.
An interesting catalogue of Bibles and related books, from an important Roman Catholic library with useful annotations to the entries.
London, The Faith Press, 1930
The Greek text with a rendering in English.
12x9cm, (9)+160 pages, but the page numbers 1-155 used twice, with the English and Greek texts on facing pages given the same number. Clean internally, the cover worn but the book solid and secure.
Small 8vo. (10.5x6cm), 512 pages. Some spotting, marking and fingering to the pages, generally a well used book. A little worming to the later half of the book, cutting into words but never, as far as I can see preventing them being read. The end papers also spotted, with a previous owner’s inscription inside the front cover.
