Important Anglican church history, with an inscription by a member of the author’s family.

1^st. Edition. 8vo. (19x12cm), xxiv+672 pages. The pages lightly browned, with slight creasing, particularly to the first few pages, but easily readable throughout. A chip in the edge of the front endpaper, and an inscription on the verso of this leaf; ‘…In memory of the Author, Uncle Alec.’

Bound in the publisher’s blue cloth, the title etc. in gold on the spine. The binding in good condition with a little wear at the top and bottom of the spine. The edges of the pages slightly browned when the book is closed, and a small crease in the blank margin at the top of about 30 pages.

The author’s ardent belief was in the continuity of the Church of England from the earlier history of Christianity.
